Better Energy adds two Experienced Leaders from the Energy Sector to its Board of Directors

Better Energy announces that Adele Bugge Norman Pran and Nancy Kabalt–Groot have been elected to its Board of Directors. The two newest members bring a broad range of professional and board experience from various sustainability and energy companies.

Adele brings experience as a board member and director within infrastructure and sustainable solutions for food and energy, such as Yara International, Bane NOR, Argentum Asset Management and HitecVision. She also spent over 10 years at Herkules Capital, where she was Partner, acting CFO and responsible for investor relations at one of the Nordic's largest private equity advisors. Adele is also an advisor to the Boards Impact Forum and leads sustainability committees at various organisations.

“It is more important than ever that we establish a renewable energy system in Europe. With a well-proven business model and its committed management team, Better Energy is well-positioned to become a leading player in this transition. I am excited to join the Better Energy Board of Directors and be part of taking the company to the next level,” says Adele Bugge Norman Pran.

With over 20 years of experience in the energy sector, Nancy has held board and leadership positions at various energy companies. Her past experience includes Nuon (now Vattenfall), TKI Urban Energy, Formula E-team, Stichting E-laad and grid operators Alliander and Stedin. She is currently an Interim Manager and Partner at Windkracht 5 and chairs the Supervisory Board at Sympower. Her experience as a member of the supervisory boards for SCW Systems, Fastned and Ennatuurlijk provides her with a strong understanding of Europe’s green transition.

“Joining Better Energy is a perfect match between its ambitions and my passion to make a difference in the energy transition. I am excited to be part of the future and help grow the business even further,” says Nancy Kabalt–Groot.

Adele and Nancy join Better Energy’s Board of Directors alongside Chair of the Board, Christian Motzfeldt, Better Energy co-founders, Michael Vater and Mikkel Dau Jacobsen, ATP representative Claus Wiinbald and Omnes Capital representative Michael Pollen. Better Energy will draw on the experience of its entire board of directors as it continues to deliver on its purpose and business strategy.

Rasmus Lildholdt Kjær, Chief Executive Officer of Better Energy, sees Adele and Nancy's experience in the energy, private equity, and asset management sectors as a valuable asset to the company’s board.

“As we continue on our journey to scale renewable energy production, we will surely benefit from Adele and Nancy's experience and, not least, from their shared passion for driving Europe’s transition to renewable energy.”

Christian Motzfeldt, Chairman of the Board of Directors, welcomes Adele and Nancy's experience as directors and board members.

“I look forward to working alongside Adele and Nancy on the continued journey ahead of us. Their experience providing strategic advice at the board level will strengthen us as we navigate Europe's ever-evolving energy landscape.”

The announcement follows the release of Better Energy’s 2023 annual report, which, among other highlights, showed the company more than doubled renewable energy production. The company’s construction portfolio grew to 1,700 MWp, with an additional 14,500 MWp in its growing development portfolio. In 2024, Better Energy will continue to apply a regional approach focusing on community engagement and making space for nature as it scales renewable energy production.
